Greene County is Missouri's 31st Judicial Circuit. Felony cases may begin in associate court and later transfer to circuit court. Misdemeanors and many felony proceedings are within associate jurisdiction. Public criminal records can include charges, docket entries, warrants, pleas, judgments, sentencing, bond conditions, fine and cost balances, and compliance letters. The local online coverage note says newer criminal and traffic cases are filed from 2006 to present, so older criminal files may require clerk assistance.

Greene County Criminal Case Flow

Greene County Criminal Record Fields
Greene County criminal court records can show far more than a charge title. They can show the court division, judge or commissioner, defendant, case type, filing date, scheduled hearings, docket entries, charges, bond or warrant events, plea, judgment, sentence, compliance letters, and payment information. When remote public access applies, public documents filed on or after July 1, 2023 may be viewable, downloadable, and printable through Case.net. Charges vs Convictions
A charge is an allegation filed in court. A conviction is a result after a guilty plea, verdict, or other finding that supports judgment. Greene County criminal court records may show charges that were later amended, reduced, dismissed, or resolved differently across separate counts. Do not treat every listed charge as a conviction. Greene County Criminal Warrants
Warrant events may appear in a criminal docket, but a docket is not a complete active-warrant clearance report. The Sheriff's Warrants Division maintains warrant and protection files and MULES/NCIC entries. The criminal FAQ says all warrants require an appearance before the judge. For Associate Court cases, Judges Fuhrman, Palmietto, Poppen, Stockard, and Carrier see unscheduled cases Monday through Friday from 8:30 to 10:00 a.m., and the person should go to the Circuit Clerk first so the office can prepare paperwork.
Jail release terms can also affect what a criminal court record shows. A capias means no bond is available until the person sees a judge. A cash-only bond requires full payment plus processing fees and may take two to four hours after paperwork. An open court bond requires a judge appearance. The official prosecutor site lists units and resources such as Major Crimes, Child Support, Community Safety, Domestic Violence, Property Fraud, Special Victims, Victim/Witness, Track Your Case, How a Case Proceeds, restitution, and bad checks. This office is a charging and prosecution source, not the clerk's office for certified court copies.

The FAQ says applications can be made online or by submitting a written application at the Greene County Public Defender office. Court records may show whether counsel appears, but eligibility and representation are handled through the defender process.
Public Greene County Criminal Records
Public access to Greene County criminal court records is limited by Missouri law and court rules. RSMo 610.011 states Missouri's public policy favoring open governmental records unless the law provides otherwise. Criminal court records also carry court-specific limits. Federal criminal cases are not in Missouri Case.net. Greene County is within the Springfield and Southern Division area of the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Missouri, and federal prosecution is handled by the U.S. Attorney for that district.

Federal records must be searched through federal systems, while Greene County Circuit Court records remain in the Missouri court-record system.
Sealed vs Expunged Records
Restricted criminal records include juvenile cases, sealed cases, expunged cases, adoption-related matters, mental health proceedings, protected personal identifiers, and victim or witness information. Greene County has a Juvenile Office and Juvenile Justice Center, and juvenile files are not the same as adult public criminal records. Some records can also be redacted before release. Expungement is court controlled. The clerk or sheriff cannot promise eligibility or remove public access without a court order.
